Policies
Registration:
Students register for a full semester: September-December; January-May; or June-August. The number of lessons varies each semester due to holidays and school vacations. Generally there are 2 or 3 lessons per month. New students may enroll at any time during the year.
Deposit:
A $100 deposit is required to register & reserve a lesson slot. This money is used to purchase music books & other materials. At the end of each semester, students have the option to register for the next term. They must bring the deposit back up to $100.
Withdrawal:
If a student wishes to stop lessons at the end of a semester, the balance of the deposit is returned. If a student withdraws from lessons mid-semester, the balance of the deposit is not refunded.
Introductory Interview:
A 30-minute interview is suggested to new students & parents at no charge-preceding enrollment. It is an opportunity to discuss a student’s objectives, understand the use of the music lab and establish familiarity.
Cancellations and Make-up Lessons:
Lessons cancelled due to illness or emergencies (no later than 10 a.m. on the lesson day) will be rescheduled during school vacations, weeks there are no scheduled lessons or at the end of the semester.
For students having other conflicts with their scheduled lesson time, they have a copy of my schedule & the student swaps their lesson for the week with another student. I do not reschedule lessons.
THERE IS NO FINANCIAL CREDIT FOR MISSED LESSONS.
Sunday Students:
Since Sunday is a family day; students having a scheduled Sunday lesson can call no later than 3 days before & the lesson will be rescheduled at a mutually agreeable day & time.
Snow Policy:
If your school is open, I will be teaching all lessons. If you prefer to cancel you may take a Group Make-up lesson on a specified date & time. Please notify me by 10 a.m. if you’re canceling.
If your school is closed: I will be teaching all lessons. If you prefer to cancel you may take a private make-up during a school vacation week, a week there are no scheduled lessons or at the end of the semester. Please notify me by 10 a.m. if you’re canceling.
Adults: If you went to work I expect you at your lesson.
Teacher Absence:
If Paula can’t keep your scheduled lesson, a make-up lesson will be arranged at a mutually agreeable day & time.
Tardiness:
Since Paula has a full schedule; if a student is late, a full lesson cannot be assured.
