Special Events
Workshops:
These are occasions to share our music with other students & to develop performance skills. They’re voluntary, there’s no fee & they’re held in my studio every 2 months.
Recitals:
Our concerts are presented in Recital Halls of local piano stores or in Assisted living facilities. They’re low key & it’s a wonderful way to share our talents with the community and develop self-confidence. We have 5 per year, which includes a Halloween recital that we perform in costumes. Our Fall Recital will be on Saturday, September 16 at Boston Organ and Piano in Natick.
Studio Features
Sight-reading Library:
This is a wonderful resource area where students can select music to checkout & play for a 2-4 week period. It’s a great way to improve reading skills & discover new & exciting music.
Tape and CD Library:
Many students don’t have the opportunity to listen to classical music. Our library enables them to checkout orchestral or solo instrumental listening selections. This is an excellent resource for students who have a desire to learn a 2nd instrument to explore their options thru listening.
Computer Lab:
Students have a 30-45 minute lab working independently either before or after their piano lesson. It’s a developmental program with activities including note reading, rhythm studies, composing, playing by ear in drill & game format. CD ROMs specialize in music history, instrument identification and music appreciation.
